Privacy Policy

1. Data controller

The data controller is the operator of the Star Path service ("we"). Contact for all privacy matters: privacy@star-path.ru. General questions: hello@star-path.ru. We reply to requests within 10 business days.

2. What data we process

2.1. Account data: email address and name; password hash (the password itself is never stored).

2.2. Birth data for the astrological calculation — provided voluntarily; the service cannot be rendered without it:

• date of birth;
• time of birth (if known);
• place of birth as text, plus the geographic coordinates and time zone derived from it;
• gender — it determines grammatical forms in the reading text;
• the name of the person the reading is for, and the relationship if the reading is not for yourself.

2.3. Cookies and technical data: session cookie, language preference, anonymous visitor identifier used for visit analytics. Details — on the Cookie usage page.

2.4. Payment data: full bank card details are processed by our payment partners and are neither transmitted to us nor stored by us. We store only the fact and amount of the payment.

3. Purposes and legal bases (GDPR)

• Performance of a contract — preparing and delivering your reading, maintaining your account, processing payments and refunds.
• Consent — newsletters and marketing emails (you can unsubscribe in one click); transfer of birth data to an AI service for text generation (see §5).
• Legitimate interest — service security, fraud prevention, aggregated visit analytics, improving the Service.

4. How readings are generated

Planet positions are calculated on our servers using the Swiss Ephemeris library. The interpretation text is generated automatically from those calculated values with the help of language models. The language model performs no astronomical calculations.

5. Transfer to an AI service

To generate the reading text, your birth data (date, time, place of birth, name and gender as grammatical context) is transferred to a third-party AI service whose servers may be located outside your country. This constitutes an international transfer of personal data. It is performed solely on the basis of your explicit consent, requested at registration or checkout. Without this consent the service technically cannot be rendered.

6. Retention

We keep your data while your account exists. Deleting the account (available in your personal cabinet) deletes all readings and prepared files without the possibility of recovery. Payment records are retained for the period required by applicable tax and accounting law.

7. Your rights

You have the right to:

• access your personal data and receive a copy;
• rectify inaccurate data;
• erasure ("right to be forgotten") — by deleting the account or by request;
• data portability — receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format;
• withdraw consent at any time — for newsletters via the unsubscribe link, for other processing by request;
• object to processing based on legitimate interest;
• lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.

To exercise any of these rights, write to privacy@star-path.ru. Withdrawal of consent to data processing entails termination of the service; payments for services already rendered are not refunded.

8. International transfers

In addition to the AI service (§5), data may be processed by hosting and infrastructure providers located outside your country. We take reasonable measures to ensure an adequate level of protection for such transfers.

10. Changes to this Policy

The current version is always available at this address. We notify registered users of material changes by email.
